Howdy-do!

My name is Stacey and I’m an American (a St.Louis, Missouri girl to be exact) who has somehow ended up in Madrid, Spain to live for a while (maybe for forever, but who knows). I’ve been living here for 4 years and have learned the hard way which places I like to go to on the weekends or on a random free day I have during the week. Thus the reason why I’ve decided to start this blog. I want to share my Mad-town favs with everyone I know….and also those I don’t.

Many of the places I go to are either random discoveries OR amazing recommendations by others. So I’m just spreading the love to those who also enjoy a great meal or an amazing night out on the town or any other random fun activity that a Capital city like Madrid could offer you.

I´m also going to be posting about the randomness in my life occasionally (sorry to bore any of you avid readers). And I´m going to be sharing any other travels or journeys or adventures that may come my way.

And I’ve recently moved into a new flat with an Amazing kitchen, so the ‘La Guiri Cooks’ series will be about some of my fav dishes that I whip up in my super cocina! I hope you’ll enjoy and maybe even try out some of the recipes!

If nothing else, I hope you enjoy the pictures, videos and posts and that they bring a smile to your face.

Love,

S.

  1. OK I found it. You’re real big on food subjects so far aren’t you? Vice nice photos included. Will be looking forward to seeing more in the future.

  2. Hi Stacey, thanks for the compliment on my Lolina pics. I love your blog and I´m so glad that there are more greedy guirri bloggers in town!

  3. Hmmmm….I may have to take you up on that offer. I love Ramen and after the catastrophe in Japan (Especially since my flatmate is half Japanese and her brother is living there right now), I feel the need to do a dedication blog post for good ole Japan. Tonight I´m hitting up Fondue in Chamberi with friends. What are your weekend plans??

    • Oh dear, she must be so worried 😦
I´m in Berlin this weekend and Barca next weekend, so it would have to be during the week. How about next Thursday? I was thinking of doing a tribute post too, and I intended to go to Oiishi next to Alonso Martinez last night. Instead I ended up in a new place next door. It was the most god-awful “Japanese” experience ever, so please don´t ever go to Mi Sushi in C/ Santa Teresa.

      • Ok, sounds good. I wouldnt be able to get there until 9:45pm/10pm due to work. And I will take note of the horrible japanese experience!

      • Hmmm, sounds like it might be a bit stressful for you. We could try another day? I´m busy Mon & Tue next week, Wed would also work, or leave it for the week after? I´m in town all week that week.

  4. there’s a place called ginger’s heart…. its been missing a key link for about 3 years now…. i think the link hopped a plane to spain and forgot about the rest of her. if you have seen or know any information regarding this missing link running abroad in spain please send it back promptly placed gently back inside ginger’s heart. as she misses it very much.

    • there’s a place called Stacey’s heart….its also been missing a key link for about 3 years now…stacey got on a plane to Spain and has been having such a blast over here that sometimes life takes over and makes her put her links from back home on the back burner….this key link is a tall and sexy fairy princess now hot momma to a lil fairy prince named Noah. Stacey thinks that 2012 will be the year for putting these links together again…..she doesn’t think it….she KNOWS it!!!!! 😉

  5. Thanks for the follow! I love your blog too. Looking forward to perusing more as Madrid is one of my most favorite cities in the world. Nice to meet you 🙂
